This is the great story of a scientific research as well as an incredible story of robbery, jewel recovery and ancient curse. It is the return of the most mythical blue diamond in the world: the French Blue.
The computer-aided research done last 2008, it is now acknowledged that Hope is the cut of another much bigger diamond, the Blue Diamond of the French Crown which was stolen during the French Revolution – also simply known as The French Blue.
This discovery has been made thanks to the finding a three-dimensional lead model of the original diamond in the collections of the Paris Museum of Natural History, early last year, by Professor Farges.
