The Bélon watershed, one of the smaller French estuaries seems to have found a balance between human activity and preservation of a unique natural environment. Yet this balance is threatened by the deteriorating water quality, and the consequences could eventually weigh on the local pride: the Bélon flat oyster, as well as on the tourism activity.
