In Zimbabwe, French scientists study the complex relationship between the increasing number of elephants, other herbivores and their predators. The elephant is an endangered species all over the world, but here in Zimbabwe, it is far from being extinct. Rather the opposite! Man protects elephants for nearly forty years. Hunt is forbidden and the pachyderm has become a great touristic asset, one of the most important business sectors of the whole country. But elephant’s overpopulation causes an ecological imbalance and threatens the ecosystem. What will be the consequences for lions and hyenas? How will this imbalance impact the surrounding villagers and their cattle? The Relationship between man, nature and wild fauna is the focus of the attention of the scientists whom Mathieu Vidard is accompanying.
