Where do we come from? What do apes and humans have in common, where are the differences? The chimpanzee Sina and the paleontologist Oliver are trying to answer these questions in an extraordinary experiment. By comparing Oliver’s and Sina’s anatomy and behaviour in the TV-studio, we see how closely the two species are related and where evolution caused differences. Via the "time-tunnel" we travel back into the past to some of our forebears and attempt to answer questions about our roots. The film highlights major landmarks in human evolution and provides insights into the methods of paleontology. A passionate researcher, elaborate 3D-animations and a unique studio-experiment let science come to life.
