Visual impairment of very different forms (blindness, low vision from birth, following an accident or illness) is often poorly understood by the population. There are almost 100.000 visual impaired in France today and almost 1 million and a half of low vision person.

Like other handicaped, the visual impaired have to face autonomy problems, along with isolation, integration and working issues.
