The dreadful disappearance of the Aral Sea: explanations, causes and consequences. For almost 40 years, the five ex soviets republics of Central Asia have to face one of the worst ecological plague: the disappearance of the Aral Sea. The Sea began to flow back from the early 60's which implied climatic disorders, dismantling grounds, public health threats, economical bankruptcy of the littoral area etc.

Nicolas Millet and Sylvain Tesson bent their movie camera over the emptied basin of the Aral Sea. Travelling from the original source of the rivers depending on the Aral Sea till the bank of its depleted shore, they ride and drive across Central Asia looking for its oasis -and deserts- inhabitants who are both doers and victims of the disaster.
