In the depths of a silver mine in Naica, Mexico, one of nature’s greatest wonders was discovered only a few years ago: an immense cave containing a forest of gigantic crystals, the largest in the world. Yet the cave is as beautiful as it is deadly. Its atmosphere is alike boiling water, making any exploration an extreme endeavour. After years of preparation, a team of cavers, scientists and NASA experts are finally going to explore Naica, spring 2002. Naica, the crystal cave, is the record of this scientific adventure in a place where nature has expressed itself with such force that it is destined to remain etched in men's memory forever.
