January 2010. A mummified head is found in an attic. But whose? Could it be King Henri IV's, assassinated in 1610?

This documentary records the amazing adventure that led to the solution to that mystery. Working with internationally renowned historians and scientists, directors Stephane Gabet and Pierre Belet travel through four centuries of history and to distants corners of Europe. The production has been granted unique access to key historical sites for the first time ever. The trail starts in the Bourbon mausoleum wich is Marie-Antoinette's last resting place. It moves on to the Louvre, scene of King Henri's final hours; to the streets of Florence to unravel the secrets of the necropolis of the Medicis and to the castle of Count Erbach in Germany, in search of lost sacred relics.

Filmed like a forensic investigation, In search of the King's head is the unique story of one of the most important archaeological discoveries of recent times.
