In a pool of the Crocodile Farm of Pierrelatte, a crocodile stares with nostalgy at its ancestors’ plastic reproduction : the Sarcosuchus imperator. Its journey through Time and its species’ memory takes it to the edge of the river that gaves it its name : the Nile. It remembers the glory days when its ancestors were gods. But days and climate have changed : on the Nile’s banks desert has now replaced the Pharaos savannah. Tanzania and Burkina Faso will be the last stop of its journey. Will global warming kill the Crocodile, who survived the great coolness that killed dinosaurs ? Worst of all, the heat causes a change of embryos’ sex and if global warming keeps going there will be only males ! What is the futur for this crocodile who’s the most spread in Africa ?

Debate with :

  • Nicolas Mathevon, Specialist of crocodiles' sounds at the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique)
  • Samuel Martin, Director of the Crocodile Farm of Pierrelate
