In 2006, Eric Crubezy, anthropologist and forensic scientific discovered an ancient tomb with exceptional remains: one of the most well-preserved tomb ever discovered in Siberia. A woman was lying in a wooden casket surrounding by offerings, and that woman was a shaman... Her body was enveloped in a large cloak of pearls with the sleeves sewn shut at the ends as if to keep her from using her hands. The scientist decided to investigate. When and how did she live? What powers did she have? How did she die? What does she reveal about her people’s traditions? To answer these questions.

Debate with :

  • Eric Crubezy, director of the Laboratory of anthropo-biology (University Toulouse 3 / CNRS)
  • Marc Jampolsky, Director
