June 1944, Allied forces land in Normandy. Overlord is also the biggest blood transfusion operation ever organized. For the first time, thanks to an extraordinary logistical chain, blood donated by thousands of volunteers in New York and London is transfused to wounded soldiers on the French beaches.

This films proposes an original point of view of an aspect of the first half of the XX century: the issues of blood transfusion.
