French version of the film

Stonehenge is one of the world’s most iconic monuments. Yet, despite centuries of intense scrutiny, many of the biggest questions remain unanswered: why, of all places, was it built where it was? What was its true purpose? How did the pre-historic architects and builders design and construct it with such pinpoint accuracy? And who were those who built it?

In 2010 an international team of archaeologists began a survey it believes will finally provide the clues to crack the mystery of the megaliths.Rather than focusing solely on the stones, they investigated the wider area in which they sit. Using state-of-the-art remote sensing technologies they “peeled-away” the surface of over 5 square miles of land around Stonehenge. Dubbed “The Hidden Landscapes Project”, it’s the most ambitious analysis of the sacred site ever undertaken.

It’s a unique picture of the area that revealed a remarkable world of hidden and interconnected monuments. A vast Neolithic Valley of the Kings.
