French Connection

Based in Paris and created in 1997, Yade French Connection produces cinema films (short and feature-length films) and television programs (documentaries, music videos, drama series) under French Connection Films and Yade Films labels. Since 2008, French Connection Films has launched the production or co-production of five feature-length films, which have been or will be released to the cinema. French Connection Films has attracted two reputable directors: Ross McElwee and Nabil Ayouch. Ross McElwee’s film “Bright Leaf” premiered at Cannes Film Festival in 2003 and was released to the cinema by Rezo Films in 2004. Nabil Ayouch directed three acclaimed feature-length films, which have been screened at many festivals and released in over 40 territories worldwide. Our films and programs are funded by advances by cinema/TV distributors (Pretty Pictures, MFA+, Arthouse Films, France Televisions Distribution), European television channels (Arte, France Televisions, Canal Plus, Orange Cinema Series, AVRO, YLE, TSR, TSI), the European Commission, the French government and the French Film Board (CNC), foreign film boards (Telefilm Canada, Canadian Television Fund, NVFF South Africa), Procirep and ANGOA, local French Funds (Region Alsace, Region France Comté, Département du Bas-Rhin, Département des Vosges, Département des Côtes d’Armor, Département de la Manche, Communauté Urbaine de Strasbourg), foreign tourism boards and embassies (US Embassy in Paris, Malaysia Tourism Board, Turkey Tourism Board, Thailand Tourism), airlines (Brussels Airlines, Air France, British Airways) and museums. French Connection Films has signed co-production deals with Australia, Cameroon, Canada, China/Hong Kong, Italy, Mauritania, the Netherlands, South Africa and the USA.
